Responses to Chs. 6 and 11

I would prefer to teach in a classroom that had less technologies.  One reason for sure is that students needs to engaging hands on materials.  I do understand that these technologies can be fun and educational at the same time, but I do feel like they are not learning themselves what they should learn.  You can see the difference between someone who is interested in learning and someone who is acting that they are interested.  I do believe that with hands on assignments, activities, and so forth, students can reach their goals specifically to what they can understand.  Students can also relate if they are a visual or audio learning.  Yes, technology is always up to date but you can use the simple technology just to meet your objectives of your lesson plans.

I do think that one traditional technology that I would use in the classroom setting is audiocassettes.  I do believe that audiocassettes can be used in the classroom with children being able to use their listening skills to follow the character, describe it, and to know story sequencing by recognition.  Also with audiocassettes, children will be able to picturize in their journal or in their mind what the story may lead to.  Children do get excited for guessing and finding clues to these stories that they have not yet listen to. One emergent technology that I would use in a classroom setting is probably using Internet broadcasts.  Why?  I do think that children will be able to develop a story, character, or even finding topics within their themes.  It is a great way to expand their mind, creativity, and being able to recognize the story that they are developing.
By using all these devices in the classroom, it will help children expand their mind, creativity, and imagination that they can understand.  Also, keep in mind that children all have different learning styles.  This will help children learn more about each other and themselves as well.  Children want to have fun in these activities.  Make your lesson plans fun that the children and even yourself will have a good time.

Choua

Well, this is something new and excited that I haven't been on.  I'm Choua.  I'm from the States.  And of course, I'm Asian, but Hmong to be more specific.  I do hope that I do on this blog more often.  Wish me luck on that.
